The Gremio FC official website has reported that Fabio Aurelio has agreed a deal with the Brazilian outfit.

With the Brazilian's Anfield contract due to expire, the left-back is set to bring an end to life on Merseyside.

A statement on Gremio's website says: "Gremio confirm agreement with the left-back Fabio Aurelio Rodrigues. The player's contract extends to December 31, 2013.

"The player, developed at Sao Paulo, has been with Liverpool in England since 2006 and also served for six years at Valencia in Spain."

Aurelio became the first Brazilian to sign for the Reds in July 2006 when he joined Liverpool on a Bosman.

He went on to make 134 appearances in a red shirt, netting six goals including a never to be forgotten free-kick in the 4-1 win v Manchester United at Old Trafford.

His last appearance in a red shirt was against Fulham at Anfield back on May 1.
