Robbie Fowler scored the quickest hat-trick in Premier League history as Arsenal were swept aside at Anfield. It took him four minutes and 33 seconds to sink George Graham's men and to this day the record remains unbeaten.

Liverpool started the season with a resounding 6-1 victory at Selhurst Park against Crystal Palace and they followed it up with a strong performance against the Gunners.

Fowler's first strike demonstrated his deadly instincts as he seized onto a loose ball and turned it past David Seamen for 1-0. His second was all about the quality of the finish as the Toxteth-born forward dragged the ball through the legs of a defender and into the corner of the net.

Quick-feet allowed him to manoeuvre the ball around the post from an awkward position on the touchline to poke home his third.
