Steven Gerrard marked his 400th Premier League appearance for Liverpool by delivering a stunning display and demolishing Everton with an historic hat-trick in March 2012.

In doing so, he became the first Liverpool player since Fred Howe in 1935 to score three against Liverpool's neighbours at Anfield. His first came courtesy of a delicate lob which glided over a wall of Everton defenders and nestled in Tim Howard's net for 1-0.

His second was the polar opposite of the first. Luis Suarez took one touch too many as he wriggled free of his marker on the touchline and Gerrard was onto the loose ball in a flash as he stampeded into the Everton penalty area and arrowed the ball into the roof of the Kop net.

With just seconds remaining, Gerrard seized possession in the centre of the park, slipped a pass into Suarez before peeling off into space yards from goal. Suarez, aware of the fact his skipper was desperate for a third, chose not to try his luck but rather to shift the ball onto his right foot and roll it into Gerrard, who smashed home for his hat-trick.

Each weeknight during the summer we'll reveal four more from our countdown from 6pm BST on LFC TV. 11-minute highlights will then be available on LFC TV Online the following morning. LFC TV is available FREE to view on SKY channel 434 and Virgin channel 544 (as part of the XL pack).
