Boss on loan deals and Agger
Brendan Rodgers admits Liverpool may look to utilise the loan market as he attempts to bolster his squad ahead of the close of the summer transfer window.
The boss has confirmed he is exploring various avenues and work continues behind the scenes and expects there to be new faces at Anfield before the end of August.
"There is nothing imminent just yet, not that I am aware of, but hopefully things will progress over the next couple of days," Rodgers said.
"I want players in sooner rather than later, it is important to get the group together as quickly as possible, but if not we will just have to be patient.
"I'd be happy as long as we have some in before the end of August.
"I have also looked at one or two loan deals from abroad.
"There are some quality players in that market that I have enquired about and spoken to the European managers on.
"The make-up of the group will change before the season starts and that will change the dynamic of the team also."
Meanwhile, Rodgers has revealed Daniel Agger will participate in a practice match this weekend to enhance his match fitness after he missed Thursday's Europa League win over FC Gomel in Belarus.
"We have a behind closed doors game for him this weekend to help his match fitness," said the manager.
"Daniel is fit, but we have to make sure his physical condition is up to speed. He wasn't going to play and as that was the case, I wanted him to use that time to work on his physical condition."
