How Luis helped make Jamie's dream day
A lifelong Liverpool fan achieved his dream of watching the Reds in action when he attended the recent Anfield clash with Newcastle United – thanks to the help of the LFC Supporters' Committee.
The committee's disabled supporters representative, Jeanette Dodd, was contacted by Chris Cook, chair of Camphill Village Trust charity, who asked for help in making Jamie Kenyon's ambition come true.
Jamie has Down's Syndrome and lives in a Camphill Community in Yorkshire.
Chris said: "Jamie is a very special person who will be celebrating his 40th birthday in October and he would love to have the chance of seeing Liverpool play one day - it is his greatest wish in the whole world."
The charity had put funds aside to pay for three tickets and travel costs, but needed help in obtaining match tickets for a disabled supporter and two assistants.
Touched by the story, Jeanette provided Chris with all the necessary information - and just a few weeks later, was delighted to hear three tickets had been secured for the Newcastle game.
Upon arriving at Anfield, Jamie met with representatives of the committee, who presented him with a belated birthday present and card - however, his favourite moment was watching Luis Suarez's magical goal just a few yards in front of him!
