Skipper: Coutinho belongs at LFC
Steven Gerrard has been suitably impressed by the impact of Philippe Coutinho for Liverpool so far and expects the Brazilian to become a 'great asset' for the club once he can complete 90 minutes.
The 20-year-old has made three starts for the Reds since arriving at Anfield on the penultimate day of the January transfer window, being withdrawn midway through the second period on each occasion.
Gerrard has observed a series of brilliant moments by the attacking midfielder, however, and is anticipating further proof of Coutinho's talent in 2013-14.
"He's got moments of magical brilliance," the captain told the Liverpool Echo.
"I think you'll see the best of him next season when he gets a full pre-season under his belt and gets used to the speed of the game.
"But what he has shown for 55 or 60 minutes is that he's a top player and he belongs in a Liverpool shirt.
"If we can get that for 90 minutes from him next season then he's going to be a great asset for us."
