The Liverpool Cup will be held at Anfield on Monday, May 20, when local youngsters will get the opportunity to show their skills out on the hallowed turf.

Eight schools and nearly 100 children are set to participate in the tournament, which is now in its 35th year.

Over 2,500 boys and 1,100 girls have already featured in the earlier rounds of the competition and now the semi-finals and finals will be played at Anfield.

Last year's winners were Sudley Junior School and St Margaret Mary's Catholic Junior School (above), for the boys and girls competitions respectively.

Monday's tournament will be open to the public and the entry fee is £4.00, which can be paid on entry to Anfield's Main Stand.

Money raised by the Liverpool Cup is re-distributed back to schools throughout the Merseyside region to provide more sporting opportunities to local children.

Liverpool Cup Secretary, Steve Sass, said: "We are once again delighted to host our 35th tournament and extremely grateful of the support of Liverpool FC in agreeing to host this event yet again.

"It will be a great experience for these kids to play at Anfield where they see their idols play every week and I'm sure this is a day they will remember for the rest of their lives."

The evening events commence at 6.15pm BST and the final presentation of trophies will be held around 9pm.
