Just 12 days remain to join more than 400 people in pledging your support to a Liverpool-based film company in their attempt to release a documentary about the iconic song 'You'll Never Walk Alone'.

The 56-minute film, titled 'Walk On - The Story of You'll Never Walk Alone', features interviews with John Aldridge, Ian Callaghan, Jamie Carragher, Kenny Dalglish and Steven Gerrard plus many more.

'Walk On' chronicles the story of the incredible power of this Rodgers and Hammerstein anthem, its adoption by Liverpool supporters on the Kop and its emotional legacy.

It also asks the question: why 'You'll Never Walk Alone'? How has a song from a 1940s musical transcended the medium and evolved into an anthem for generations of football supporters?

Presented by Kelly Cates, daughter of Dalglish, producers Tabacula are aiming for a release to coincide with the 50th anniversary since Gerry and the Pacemakers' version reached No.1 in the UK charts.

With television companies failing to take up the film, the makers hope to raise £75,000 from fans' donations before September 26 to ensure the documentary can be distributed and cover associated costs.

Tabacula are asking fans to pledge £10 to their cause, in exchange for a DVD edition of the completed documentary packed with special extras from the making of the film.

They are attempting to achieve their goal via the Kickstarter website, an initiative launched to support creative projects, big or small, from films to games, music to art and design, through crowd funding.

Jah Jussa, 'Walk On' producer, explained: "The money is going to pay for archive, licensing, final edit, mastering, duplication, the premiere, marketing and distribution.

"At only £10 per DVD we are looking for just seven thousand fans to want to see the film enough to sign up and order their copy for Christmas. When you imagine the 20,000 fans stood on the Kop for a Liverpool game then 7,000 fans doesn't seem too much.

"The nature of the Kickstarter campaign means that we now have only two weeks to make that total. No money will be taken if we fail to reach our target. It has become a campaign of awareness.

"The difficulty is making people aware that this product exists, and as long as enough people want it, we can then pay all the finishing costs and move ahead into production of the DVDs."
