Sturridge out to equal 80-year record

Should he find the net today, Liverpool's No.15 will equal the club record of scoring in seven successive away league games. The only other man to achieve the feat was Sam English in 1933.

Sturridge is only the second Liverpool player in history to score in eight of the opening nine league games of a campaign. In 1987, John Aldridge scored in each of the first nine.

The Reds' leading scorer has scored twice against Arsenal in his career - for different teams. He netted a penalty in Manchester City's 3-0 win in November 2008 and scored in Bolton's 2-1 victory in April 2011.

He has scored 14 goals in his last 14 league games.

Luis Suarez's goal at the Emirates in last season's 2-2 draw was the 100th in Barclays Premier League meetings between the teams and also Liverpool's 250th in league football against the Gunners.
