Philippe Coutinho and Luis Suarez were honoured by the German Reds at their annual Player of the Year ceremony in Berlin.

Liverpool's No.7 was named German Reds Player of the Year for 2012-13 and follows in the footsteps of previous esteemed winners, such as Steven Gerrard and Pepe Reina.

Brazilian ace Coutinho was voted the Young Player of the Year.

Official German Reds branch secretary, Graham Agg, hailed the meeting as a fantastic success and thanked all members who attended.

The German Reds members also voted Hamburg-based Ralf Lehman as their new chairman and would like to thank ex-chairman Ronald Nuernberger for his outstanding service during the last six years, and also ex-committee members Bert Goldschweer, Thomas Stanke and Bjoern Staschat.

Agg also paid a special tribute to German Reds committee member Udo Puetsch for organising the whole event in his home city of Berlin.
