Pascoe: I can't wait to watch trio
Colin Pascoe claims Liverpool fans have a lot to look forward to, especially with the returning Philippe Coutinho giving Liverpool's attack a new added dimension.
In the absence of the brilliant Brazilian, the SAS partnership of Daniel Sturridge and Luis Suarez have been in prolific form, firing 14 Barclays Premier League goals between them in 2013-14.
But with the creative No.10 now fully fit again, the assistant manager believes the triumvirate can trouble even the meanest Premier League defences.
Colin, are the lads anxious to get back out on the pitch and put things right after the setback at Arsenal last week?
Yes, of course. When you lose a game to a side the magnitude of Arsenal you are disappointed, but we are looking forward to the next game now.
Despite that defeat at the Emirates, you stayed in the top three after Chelsea lost and Tottenham dropped two points - how much confidence can everyone take from that?
Well, it's all about what we do and that is the most important thing. We look after ourselves and we will be looking for another three points on Saturday.
This is a very open Premier League so far this season - can you see it staying that way beyond the Christmas period?
Yes, I can. There have been some different and strange results, like Newcastle beating Chelsea last week. Then you look at the first game of the season, when Aston Villa won at Arsenal. I can see results being like this right up until Christmas.
A major plus last weekend was the return of Philippe Coutinho. How has he looked in training and is he ready to start the game, if selected, on Saturday?
He is looking great and sharp. He was a big loss for us but he has been training well and is looking good.
What difference can Coutinho make to this team?
When he drops in and gets the ball, he makes things happen. He has a great awareness of his teammates, like Suarez and Sturridge, and can spot a pass. He likes to take players on and it's great to have him back.
As a coach, how exciting a prospect is it to see Coutinho getting a run of games again alongside Suarez and Sturridge?
He's just a dream to work with. He's a very humble boy and the way he could gel with Suarez and Sturridge, I think that will be great to watch.
Besides the Southampton setback, our home form has been excellent so far - how important is it to keep it that way if we are to challenge for the top four come the end of the season?
Yes, it's always the same, as we want to be aggressive at home and not lose any games. It will be a tough game, as always, but again our objective is three points.
Fulham have struggled so far but they have a front two in Dimitar Berbatov and Darren Bent who on their day can be a real threat to any defence. How important is it we keep those two quiet?
Bent is a proven goalscorer. He has got pace and power and you can't take your eyes off him. Berbatov will drop and he links the play well for Fulham. He can change a game - he has got that elusive skill where he can turn it on at any time.
You beat Fulham in your final away game of last season, when Sturridge scored a hat-trick. How much of a complete performance was that?
It was a great display and the lads played really, really well that day. We are looking for the same kind of performance with the same hard work we put in that day. Fulham will come here to defend well and they will try and hit us on the break, so we have to be focused and ready for it.
Can it sometimes be a game of patience at Anfield?
It can be and you have to get in and around them and test them all of the time, and then take your chance when it arrives.
How important is it we get the three points on Saturday to take into the international break?
Very important. You want that win before the internationals. It's at home and we need to make sure we get the three points.
How frustrating is it having an international break just before your preparations for the derby and how will that affect your plans?
No, it's not ideal, but everyone knows when the international dates are. It does disrupt your plans but every team has got international players travelling around the world. It's the same for them and we just have to keep our fingers crossed that everyone comes back safe and sound.
