Liverpool fans making their way to Anfield for the Reds' clash against Norwich on Wednesday night were stopped in their tracks by a giant World AIDS Day red ribbon projection on the iconic stadium.

Beamed onto the outside of the famous Kop yesterday evening, the projection was part of the club's week-long campaign to raise awareness for World AIDS Day and Living with HIV, Standard Chartered's global HIV and AIDS education programme.

As part of the campaign, players also warmed up in special t-shirts dedicated to the annual awareness day.

Standard Chartered Bank bolstered awareness by using all of their matchday rights at the fixture to direct people to a specially produced e-Booklet, which is the one-stop resource for information on Living with HIV.

The 'You, Me & HIV' eBooklet dispels common myths and misconceptions about HIV by sharing transmission and prevention stories from around the world, and is available to read and share at www.you-me-hiv.org.

Annemarie Durbin, group executive sponsor for Living with HIV at Standard Chartered, said: "We wanted to create a real buzz around raising awareness for World AIDS Day at the home game against Norwich, and what better way than using the iconic home of Liverpool FC as a backdrop to the striking red ribbon image."

Earlier in the week, the club also released footage of the players supporting the cause by creating a World AIDS Day ribbon on a goal net at Melwood and other club-based activity is scheduled in for the rest of the week.
