Jordan: Same again at Craven Cottage
Jordan Henderson has called on Liverpool to approach Wednesday night's encounter against Fulham with the same sense of urgency they showed against a shell-shocked Arsenal at Anfield on Saturday.
In a matter of days, the Reds will go from facing top of the table Gunners at home to locking horns with the Barclays Premier League's bottom-placed side at Craven Cottage.
Fulham's relegation fight was handed a huge boost on Sunday, when Rene Meulensteen's side clinched a late equaliser to draw 2-2 with Manchester United before a stunned Old Trafford.
Henderson knows the London outfit will be determined to follow a precious point against the champions with another statement of intent in their quest for survival.
However, he also believes that if Liverpool recreate the hunger and conviction that was on display in L4 at the weekend, when Arsenal were trounced 5-1, they stand a chance of picking up three points.
Asked if the five-star Gunners rout was the best performance he has been part of since arriving on Merseyside in the summer of 2011, Henderson replied: "I think so.
"It was a fantastic performance, especially against Arsenal, who were top of the league. I'm sure they would have wanted to win the game. But our performance was fantastic and it was one of the best so far.
"Fulham are next and it will be a very difficult game. They are fighting. So I'm sure that it will be very difficult. But we've got to take this performance and this confidence down to Craven Cottage and hopefully we can do that."
Henderson was celebrating after a minute of play in the eagerly anticipated clash against the Gunners, as Martin Skrtel prodded home Steven Gerrard's delivery to open the scoring.
The Slovakian then executed a stunning header to double the Reds' advantage, before England duo Raheem Sterling, with a brace, and Daniel Sturridge wrapped up the 5-1 victory.
"When we're on it and we're playing really well, I think we can beat anyone," said Henderson. "I've said that before. So we've got to make sure that we're consistent with that and we do that every single week and you never know where we can finish."
