Former Liverpool striker Neil Mellor gets up close and personal with five Academy graduates in the brand new series of 'Mellor Meets' which premieres on LFC TV on Thursday, February 20.

The striker, who is a regular pundit on our extensive coverage of the U18s and U21s, returns to the screens for a second series as he gets to know some of the club's brightest talents coming through the ranks in Kirkby.

The shows will focus on the specific issues the players have to deal with in order to try and achieve their first-team dreams - something Neil can relate to as he took the same journey during his time at Liverpool.

Mellor progressed from LFC's Academy in 2002 and went on to play for the first team in the Champions League and the Barclays Premier League, scoring some historic goals - including never-to-be-forgotten strikes at the Kop end against Arsenal and Olympiacos.

In this new five-part series on LFC TV, Mellor meets Jordon Ibe, Andre Wisdom, Jordan Lussey, Brad Smith and Conor Coady.

Mellor uses his own experience in the game to discuss and find out more about the pressures of being an up-and-coming potential star for the Reds.

The issues and themes throughout the series that will be discussed include the pressures of being a local boy, the move to Melwood, going on loan, serious injury and how international youth football can affect your development.
