Skipper set to level Rushie's record
Steven Gerrard will haul himself into joint-fifth place in Liverpool's all-time appearances list when he leads the side out at Old Trafford this afternoon.
The 33-year-old will draw level with the Reds' greatest goalscorer, Ian Rush, who played 660 games for the club throughout a glittering 15-year Anfield career.
Gerrard, who today spoke of playing on for many more years, can now equal that tally and look ahead to the likes of Ray Clemence and Emlyn Hughes, who both played 665 times.

Earlier this season, Liverpool won 1-0 at Anfield thanks to Daniel Sturridge's fourth minute goal on his 24th birthday. In doing so, Sturridge became only the second Reds player to score in the opening three games of a Premier League campaign, following Robbie Fowler in 1994-95.
