Stevie: Brendan's the best man-manager
Steven Gerrard insists Liverpool's players take to the field 'feeling a million dollars' thanks to the unrivalled man-management skills of Brendan Rodgers.
Such confidence was in plain view on Sunday afternoon when the Reds recorded their first victory at Old Trafford for five years in emphatic fashion.
Gerrard was at the heart of a stunning performance, shrugging off extreme pressure to power two penalties past David de Gea en route to a 3-0 win.
The woodwork denied him a hat-trick of spot-kicks before Luis Suarez swept into the corner to cap an unforgettable afternoon at the home of the reigning champions.
Afterwards, Gerrard turned the spotlight on Rodgers, pointing to the Northern Irishman's personal approach and tactical nous as key to Liverpool's recent fine form.
"Brendan has been a revelation," Gerrard said. "From week to week he is helping us improve and get better and he has been an absolute breath of fresh air to this football club.
"I am sure the rest of the players would echo what I am saying. He makes you go out on to the pitch feeling a million dollars - full of confidence and belief. He is a very confident manager."
"I would never judge a player or a manager or a member of the coaching staff before I have actually met them face to face and you see them day to day.
"He manages every single player differently, he knows we have different characters in the dressing room and his man to man, one on one management is the best I have known."
