'What a text from Brendan Rodgers meant'
On-loan midfielder Conor Coady has spoken of his appreciation for Brendan Rodgers after revealing how the manager has kept in regular touch with his progress during the midfielder's spell at Sheffield United.
The Scouser is preparing for a trip to Wembley in the Blades' FA Cup semi-final against Hull City on April 13, and he has been boosted by messages of support from the boss and staff at his parent club.
Coady told Liverpoolfc.com: "I spoke to the boss a few months ago and he was fantastic with me.
"He also dropped me a little text, which I was made up about as it's something he didn't have to do. To get a text off the Liverpool manager is fantastic.
"I also speak with Mike Marsh a lot and Alex Inglethorpe, who are brilliant. Marshy came to watch me play against Brentford recently and I appreciate the support.
"Alex has been fantastic with his support. Since he came into the club he has always tried to improve me as a player. He has helped me a lot and I have learned so much from him."
One day Coady hopes to achieve his dream of playing regularly for Liverpool, but he acknowledges a lot of hard work lies ahead to reach that goal.
He added: "I have been a Liverpool fan all of my life since I was a baby and it would be really proud moment to play for Liverpool's first team at Anfield.
"But at the minute it's about me knuckling down and trying to play as well as I can for Sheffield United and push on."
