Vietnamese team win the Standard Chartered Trophy
A five-a-side team from Vietnam have been crowned the winners of the third annual Standard Chartered Trophy, which took place at Anfield, the home of Liverpool FC, on Tuesday 13 May.
The international five-a-side football competition, which recently won Best International Marketing Campaign at the BT Sports Industry Awards, saw ninety-eight participants, representing fourteen finalist countries, taking part in the Standard Chartered Trophy finals in Liverpool.
After winning domestic tournaments in their home countries, the teams who earned a place in the final stage of the tournament came from Bangladesh, Dubai, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Kenya, Korea, Malaysia, Nigeria, Pakistan, Singapore, Thailand, The Gambia, the UK and Vietnam.
"The whole experience of the tournament from start to finish has been a dream come true for the team and to be able to play at Anfield has really been a once in a life-time experience. The standard has been really high, so to be crowned overall winners is a real honour," said Lê Quoc Duy, winning captain.

Ahead of the tournament, participants had the chance to watch the final Reds game of the season against Newcastle at Anfield on Sunday 11 May, as well as having an exclusive coaching session led by Club legends John Barnes and Robbie Fowler in preparation for the finals.
