Mascherano: World Cup hopes depend on Messi
Ex-Liverpool ace Javier Mascherano believes that Argentina's hopes of success at the tournament dubbed the 'Greatest Show on Earth' rest solely with his teammate for club and country, Lionel Messi.
In the fourth part of LFC TV's exclusive 'World Stars' series, the focus turns to Barcelona's No.10 - and the former Red believes that any team would fail not to be reliant of a player with his undoubted class.
"If we want to do something big at the World Cup it will depend upon his contribution," said Mascherano.
Mascherano makes no apologies in relying on the four-time World Footballer of the Year and believes Argentina will be looking to get the maximum from the 26-year old.
"It's unavoidable; when you have a player like him you're going to use him as much as possible and squeeze as much as possible out of him."
