HJC charity runner thanks Celtic
Liverpool fan Debi McMillan is preparing for a special run as she plans to do the Great Scottish half marathon in Glasgow on Sunday October 5, as a thank-you to Celtic FC for their continued support over Hillsborough.
Debi, from the Hillsborough Justice Campaign, will put on her best running shoes to raise funds for the Celtic FC Foundation.
It's her way of showing gratitude to the club's followers for the unwavering support they've shown during the campaign for the 96 and the survivors of the Hillsborough disaster since 1989.
Debi said: "I signed up for the Great Scottish Run because I want to run in places that I love. I've obviously ran in Liverpool, and with my husband, Paul, coming from Glasgow it's my second home and I just wanted to run there.
"After we did the walk round Celtic Park with the banner thanking the Celtic fans for all their support, I thought it would be great to run for the Celtic FC Foundation. So we had a meeting and the Hillsborough Justice Campaign thought it was a great idea.
"I've joined a running club so hopefully that will help me get my speed up a bit, but it's all about logging the miles just now.
"I've only been running for a year-and-a-half. I began by doing the park run every Saturday, along with a friend, and I fell in love with it. You actually have to stop me from running now. On my rest days, I still want to get out there and run."
