The Liverpool FC Supporters' Committee has successfully concluded its search for a new disabled supporters representative.

During recent months, a selected panel shortlisted the applications for the position before fans were invited to vote for the person they believed would best represent their constituency via the club's official website.

The committee are pleased to announce the successful candidate is Katie Price.

Counting of the votes was overseen by Kevin Milles, chief executive of the Football Supporters' Federation, and the new representative is now eager to begin working with the committee.

Karen Gill, honorary president of the Supporters' Committee, welcomed the new recruit and said: "On behalf of the Liverpool FC Supporters' Committee, I'd like to extend a very warm welcome to Katie.

"We are all really looking forward to working as a team in the future. I'm certain that she will be a positive addition to the committee and that the different qualities she brings, along with her enthusiasm and love for Liverpool FC, will be a great asset in helping to achieve our goals.

"I'd also like to thank Jeanette Dodd, who stepped down from this post, for all her hard work and support over the last few years."
