Zelem agrees new Ladies contract
Liverpool Ladies are pleased to announce that England U20 international Katie Zelem has signed a new contract with the reigning Women's Super League champions.
Midfielder Zelem played a crucial role in the Reds' title run-in last season, scoring a late winning goal against Notts County Ladies in August, before recently being named the team's Young Player of the Year.
Having returned from a broken collarbone sustained in April, Zelem was also involved in all three of England U20s' World Cup games in Canada before their Group C exit following defeat by Nigeria.
On signing the new deal, Zelem said: "I'm really pleased to have agreed a new contract with Liverpool Ladies. I feel I have really improved in the last year and hopefully I can continue to improve here at Liverpool.
"To be involved in last season's WSL title campaign was fantastic for my development and I'm confident we can win many more trophies at Liverpool."
Ladies manager Matt Beard also spoke of his delight at securing her future at the club: "I am delighted that Katie has agreed a new deal at Liverpool Ladies as she is one of the most promising young players in the country.
"Katie is an exciting player with a big future ahead of her and I'm sure she can take her game to the next level once the season starts early next year."
