Brendan Rodgers makes one change to his Liverpool XI for today's Barclays Premier League clash with Arsenal at Anfield - Mamadou Sakho comes into the side to replace Dejan Lovren.

Lovren was withdrawn at the interval during the Reds' 3-1 Capital One Cup quarter-final win over Bournemouth on Wednesday due to a groin injury sustained in the game.

Rodgers confirmed on Friday that the Croatian would be assessed prior to today's contest, and the manager has opted not to name Lovren either in his starting XI or on the bench.

That means Sakho makes his first start in the league since the defeat by Aston Villa on September 13, beginning the game alongside Martin Skrtel and Kolo Toure at the back.

Elsewhere, Liverpool are unchanged from their victory over the Cherries, with Raheem Sterling leading the line from a central attacking position and Brad Jones clinching a third consecutive start at the other end of the field.

Liverpool XI: Jones, Toure, Skrtel, Sakho, Lucas, Henderson, Markovic, Coutinho, Gerrard, Lallana, Sterling.

Substitutes: Mignolet, Enrique, Lambert, Moreno, Manquillo, Can, Borini.
