Philippe Coutinho's Brazil and Mamadou Sakho's France will lock horns in a repeat of the 1998 World Cup final at Paris' Stade de France on Thursday night.

Coutinho could be in line to make his first start for his country in more than four years during the friendly fixture with Les Bleus, while centre-back Sakho will be keen for a run-out in the French capital.

Liverpool do not play a competitive fixture until Arsenal at the Emirates on April 4 - but before then, plenty of Reds will be in action for their countries at venues around the world.

Coutinho will be at the Emirates before then, too, as after the showpiece clash with France tomorrow, Brazil take on Chile at Arsenal's home on Sunday March 29. Sakho's side, meanwhile, face Denmark in Saint-Etienne on the same day.

Daniel Sturridge and Adam Lallana have been withdrawn from England's squad due to injury, but there will be interest for Reds fans as Jordan Henderson and Raheem Sterling seek to move closer to securing Euro 2016 qualification.

Roy Hodgson's team take on Lithuania at Wembley in a qualifying clash on Friday March 27, before journeying to Turin for a friendly against Italy on Tuesday March 31.

Martin Skrtel's Slovakia will look to tighten their grip on Euro 2016 qualifying group C when they face back-to-back contests at the Stadion Pod Dubnom Zilina Slovakia. After four games, the Slovakians lead group favourites Spain by three points.

First up for Skrtel and co is Luxembourg on March 27 before a friendly encounter with Czech Republic on March 31.

Lazar Markovic faces a tough task, as he'll be aiming to spark Serbia's faltering Euro 2016 qualifying campaign into life against Cristiano Ronaldo's Portugal in Lisbon on Sunday.

Joe Allen has been selected for Wales as they face a tough trip to Group B leaders Israel, while he's joined in the Welsh squad by on-loan goalkeeping prospect Danny Ward.

Two other young Reds will take their place in their respective U21 sides, with Emre Can facing Italy and England for Germany's youngsters, and Javier Manquillo joining Spain's future stars to face Norway and Belarus.

Simon Mignolet is in Belgium's squad for their Euro 2016 qualifiers against Cyprus and Israel on March 28 and March 31 respectively, while frontman Divock Origi, currently on loan at Lille, will look to increase his international goal tally for the Belgians.

For one Liverpool man, though, the international break promises a twist of fate.

Despite having retired from international football, Kolo Toure looks set to feature alongside the rest of Ivory Coast's Africa Cup of Nations winners as they play friendlies against Equatorial Guinea and Angola in the nation's biggest city, Abidjan.
