Philippe Coutinho's long-range blast at Southampton in February earned runner-up spot in the Barclays Premier League's 2014-15 Goal Cup on Friday.

The Brazilian scooped Liverpool's Goal of the Year for the strike at St Mary's that was sent whistling and swirling into the top corner from 25 yards out.

And the sensational effort was voted into the final of the Premier League's Twitter tournament, which was decided by football fans online.

Coutinho was eventually edged out by Manchester United's Angel di Maria for the accolade.
