Jordan Henderson has revealed that he often plays as himself with Liverpool on EA SPORTS FIFA games but hopes his stats have improved in the upcoming latest edition.

The England midfielder is one of four Barclays Premier League stars battling it out to feature on the cover of FIFA 16 in the UK and Ireland, and is counting on votes from fans to see off his competitors.

Winning would be particularly pleasing for the Reds vice-captain as he is a big fan of the games.

He said: "I'd be lying if I said I wasn't Liverpool, and try to score with myself in the box when my mates are down!

"I play when I can really, it's quite hard when you have two kids, so I don't get much time but when my friends come down we try to play as much as we can, just in our spare time.

"That's all we really play; there is no other game we play, only FIFA!

"And we vary between PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, because if you beat someone on the PlayStation they'll say that they are better on Xbox, so we have to make sure we mix it up."

Although he often chooses to play as Liverpool and picks himself in midfield, Henderson did admit he was not particularly happy with his ratings in last year's game.

He has picked out a number of areas where he believes he has improved and hopes to see those reflected in FIFA 16.

"I think my shooting was 69 before, I think that could be a bit better, so I am going to put 74!" he explained.

"My passing was 78, and I'm going to give an 80. Heading? I'm very, very bad at heading so I'm going to give myself a 65, poor at heading.

"Defensively I was 71, I think I can go a little bit higher, I'll go for 74.

"Dribbling, I don't really dribble, I should do that a bit more, so I'm going to say the same. Pace, I think I'm a bit quicker than 76 so I'm going to say 79."
