Liverpool's third game of the new season involves a journey to London to face Arsenal in the capital. Check out our key pre-match facts and figures from Ged Rea ahead of the 8pm BST kick-off.

Brendan Rodgers is the first Reds manager to win the opening two games of a Premier League season on two occasions, having also achieved the feat in 2013.

His team are looking to keep clean sheets in each of their opening two away league fixtures for the first time since 2008.

In league football overall, the Reds have 70 wins against the Gunners. They have been beaten 64 times and the two sides have drawn on 48 occasions.

Liverpool have won one of the last 19 meetings with Arsenal in the capital in all competitions, while their record at the Emirates Stadium specifically is one win, five draws and six defeats.

In league and cup there has not been a goalless stalemate between the teams since January 1999. Since then, 41 clashes have produced at least one goal in each.

Liverpool’s biggest win at Arsenal came in October 1893, when they won 5-0 in the first ever meeting in London between the sides. Their heaviest defeat saw them lose 8-1 in September 1934.

Kolo Toure made 225 league appearances for the Gunners between 2002 and 2009, scoring nine goals. In all competitions his tally was 14 goals in 326 games.

Nathaniel Clyne scored on this ground last season - the winner in a 2-1 League Cup victory for Southampton.

Christian Benteke scored twice at the Emirates two seasons ago in a 3-1 Aston Villa triumph.

The Gunners have finished in the top four in each of the last 19 seasons. The last time they failed to achieve the feat was under Bruce Rioch in 1995-96. Since then, they have been champions three times, second on five occasions, third in five seasons and fourth six times.

Arsenal have conceded only one goal during the first half of a home Premier League game since last October. That came in their last fixture at the Emirates, two weeks ago against West Ham United.

But they have failed to score in four of their last five home games in the top flight.

Only twice in the last 21 years have they lost two of the opening three league games - 1994-95 and 2011-12. In both seasons one of the victors was Liverpool.
