On this day in 2008, Albert Riera scored his first goal for Liverpool, a key equaliser in a 3-2 win over Wigan Athletic at Anfield.

Rafael Benitez's team had twice trailed to the Latics, whose goals came courtesy of Egyptian forward Amr Zaki.

But Riera's maiden Reds strike and a Dirk Kuyt double secured the three points for the hosts at the end of a memorable 90 minutes.
