Adam Lallana joined Jürgen Klopp to preview Thursday's Europa League clash against Manchester United with a press conference for reporters at Melwood on Wednesday afternoon - read on to see what the midfielder had to say...

On whether he's approaching his best form in a Liverpool shirt...

Possibly. It is a good moment for us at the minute. We've picked up a bit of consistency in the league. We've won three in a row and we feel we could finish the season with something special and that's what we are aiming towards.

On losing the last four games against United...

Since I've been here I've not won against Manchester United. It's a great chance and a great challenge for the team to put that right.

On how to prepare for such a big game...

I think there's obviously something different [and] special that rides on a game between Liverpool and United. Luckily enough for us, it's a chance for us to put things right. Two more games [against United] in the next week and a great chance for us to win and go through.

On a two-legged European clash versus English competition...

I think it will be just like a Premier League game. It will be great to play under the lights, hopefully [there's] a great atmosphere in both games. It's got the makings of a special tie.

On targets for the rest of the season...

To win the Europa League would be something very special. It's a very long competition - a lot of tough competitive games, in the group stages going away to Russia and arriving back late and then going again the Premier League at the weekend. It would be a great achievement to get as far as we can. [On the top four], it's a very difficult league this year and a lot of teams are challenging, not just for top four but for the title as well. That shows how strong the Premier League is and we'll give it a good shot from now till the end of the season.

On scoring against Man United...

It would be nice, but as long as we get a positive result to take to Old Trafford with us then that's all that's on my mind really.

On feeling the rivalry between the two clubs...

We've still got a few local lads in amongst the squad but I don't think you just have to be local to realise the significance of the match. There are lads that have been here for years now. Just being in and around the place in the build-up to the match you kind of feel the importance of the game and for the fans as well.

On what he's learned from the past four defeats against United...

I've learned it's just sometimes part and parcel of football. This season, especially, we've played well against the so-called bigger teams and got results [but] against Manchester United we've lost both games. In an ideal world we would have liked to have won them but that's football. Sometimes you come out on the wrong end of it but luckily enough for us we've got a chance to put things right and over two legs, we're confident enough to do that.
