No.3: Terry McDermott
Next up is a goalscoring midfielder from Kirkby that the Geordies also took to their hearts, Terry McDermott.
Like Kennedy, McDermott was on the losing side in the 1974 FA Cup when Bill Shankly orchestrated the demolition of Newcastle at Wembley.
He made the switch to Anfield directly after that and went onto score some iconic goals in a red shirt.
His effort against Tottenham during the 7-0 thrashing, his delicate chip against Everton in the 1977 FA Cup semi-final and getting the first goal for Liverpool in their first ever European Cup final in Rome against Borussia Moenchengladbach all rank among his finest moments in red.
He would later return for a second spell with Newcastle and then assistant manager at St James' Park with his great friend Kevin Keegan.
