A likeable Geordie who has the distinction of scoring winning goals in two European Cup finals is next up, Alan Kennedy.

'Barney Rubble', as he became affectionately known amongst Kopites, played for Newcastle United against Liverpool in the 1974 FA Cup final at Wembley.

It was Bob Paisley who brought him to Anfield and Kennedy became known as the man for the big occasion.

He had a fantastic left foot and his winner in the 1981 European Cup final against Real Madrid in Paris will never be forgotten.

He also struck a beauty against West Ham United in the 1981 League Cup final and repeated the Wembley feat with another great strike against Manchester United in the 1983 showpiece.

He then showed nerves of steel to convert the winning penalty against AS Roma in the 1984 European Cup final to seal the double.
