No.4: Ian St John
One of Bill Shankly’s greatest ever signings, Ian St John, tells us why he is hoping for another glorious night to add to Liverpool’s illustrious famous history.
“This is a great climax to the season and I would like to wish Jürgen and the lads all the very best.
“I think we have seen a steady improvement in the performances over the time Klopp has been in charge. I can see that, and as a fan I have been absolutely delighted with it.
“We have faced some tough games in this Europa League and to battle all the way through to this final is absolutely fantastic. I think it’s been as good as some of the performances from the great Liverpool teams in the past.
“We are playing against a Sevilla team who know all about winning this trophy because they have won it two years in a row. We will face an experienced team and a good team because La Liga is a very good league with some of the top teams better than what we have seen in the Premier League like Barcelona, Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid. Sevilla are up there and it will be a really tough game.
“We are going into this game in improved form. We are organised, our manager knows what he is doing and I’m really looking forward to it.
“I really do believe this could be one of those great nights where Liverpool can show they are one of the great teams in Europe.”
