James Milner reveals he and his Liverpool teammates are not fazed by Sevilla's impressive record in the Europa League, insisting 'anything can happen' in the final tonight.

The Spanish outfit are looking to secure their third successive crown in the competition when they face the Reds at St. Jakob-Park this evening.

90 minutes, potentially more, will determine the victors, with the vice-captain adamant that history and past success go out the window in that period.

"It's an incredible achievement," Milner explained to Champions League winner Dietmar Hamann in a special interview embedded for LFCTV GO subscribers below.

"It's not an easy tournament to win, so to be able to do it with that regularity just shows what a good team they are and they have that experience.

"But it's a one-off game and anything can happen in a one-off game, we know that.

"We've shown that we can beat anyone this season. We've got a very strong squad and a hungry squad.

"I think the experience of playing in the League Cup [final] would have helped as well.

“Whether the boys have played in a cup final before or not, that will have definitely helped - being on the end of the wrong result as well and knowing how that feels and wanting to put that right."

Depending on the fitness of skipper Jordan Henderson, Milner could be handed the armband in Switzerland.

But regardless of whether he does lead the team out or not, the veteran midfielder says he will still provide his experienced voice to the squad, along with 100 per cent effort - which is a given anyway.

"I'm quite vocal in the dressing room and things like that," he added. "I'm not one to do it for show or in front of the cameras.

"I like to do it behind closed doors and whatever. I won't change whether I'm captain or not, I'll always try to be vocal and help the team and lead by example.

"I think it's important to be vocal and also do your leading by what you do on the field as well.

“[On] Hendo, I do hope he is fit. He's a massive player for us and he is the captain.

"It's always a great honour to lead out a club like Liverpool and I enjoy it every time I do it and do it to the best of my abilities.

“But, ultimately, Hendo is captain and as long as someone in a red shirt is lifting that trophy on Wednesday, I don't care whether it's me or not."

Milner has been around the block in his footballing career, having burst onto the scene as a promising 16-year-old at Leeds United back in 2002.

Since then he has gone on to represent four other clubs, winning the Barclays Premier League twice, the FA Cup and the League Cup with Manchester City.

He's of the age and experience to know a good environment when he sees one. At Anfield, the signs are already there with this the second cup final Liverpool have reached this season.

And Milner feels there is certainly something special brewing under Jürgen Klopp.

"I think it's exciting times to be at the club," Milner concluded. "Obviously, the manager and the squad we've got is still very young."

"You look around at some of the boys - Emre and his age, you can't believe how young he, Alberto [Moreno] and these kids [are].

"We're only going to get better, those guys are going to get better. It's positive that we've got to two finals, especially changing manager mid-season, it's never easy that - it's the hardest thing in football.

"To be able to continue on that path and to be in two cup finals is great, but we don't want to be known as a team who's nearly there and gets to cup finals and doesn't deliver as well.

“I think if we can get a win, the belief you can take from that - when I was at City, the first trophy we got there, the FA Cup, we knew we were a good team but to have that experience and belief that we could win something and that feeling to want to drive on again.

"And hopefully we can get that with this squad. We've had the experience of losing a cup final, but hopefully we get one of winning it and that can drive us on to bigger and better things."
