And so to selecting Liverpool's Match of the Season. There's only one winner here... isn't there?

MR: Under the floodlights at Anfield on April 14, as scarves swirled and Borussia Dortmund were shook, it was clear we weren't just witnessing Liverpool's game of the season, but one of the greatest-ever encounters in continental competition. Thomas Tuchel's men were 2-0 up at half-time, but the Reds refused to accept they were beaten and having being willed on by the crowd, completed the most stirring of comebacks. It was a match that symbolised many of the fundamentals Jürgen Klopp has spoken about: striking back, turning doubt into belief, Liverpool deciding when the game is over and playing football that people don't want to stop talking about. It also illustrated, as per the banner on the Kop, that unity is strength at the club.

RE: Beating Manchester City 4-1 at the Etihad. That was our best win against a really top team. We had one or two performances which were nearly up there, but for our all-round performance for me it was the win at Manchester City.

JG: Liverpool 4 Dortmund 3. Obvious choice, but it has to be, doesn't it? A whole season's emotions in one game. From wondering how many we would get beat by, to somehow finding ourselves back in the game and then, just when it looked too late, a towering header from Lovren to send everyone absolutely crazy. Best crowd for ages, too.

SH: Manchester United at Anfield in Europe was something special, but is beaten by Borussia Dortmund. A truly magical and emotional night and celebrating high up on the gantry at the end with Aldo is something I will never forget. One of those nights you will tell people for years to come 'I was there!'

GR: I imagine most people will go with Borussia Dortmund at home for obvious reasons – the great atmosphere, the dramatic comeback… But I'm going to rewind further and go for Manchester United at home in the Europa League. That game laid the foundations for what came against Dortmund; it was the night the Kop awoke from its slumber, the night the famous atmosphere returned and then some. And we've got no needle with Dortmund. We've got plenty with United. And that makes it all the sweeter.

NK: Without a shadow of a doubt it has to be the second leg against Dortmund. We produced one of the most dramatic comebacks Anfield has ever seen to reach the semis. The game was an absolute thriller and a night we won't forget.

DD: Borussia Dortmund at home: one of the great European nights in our history, and a match that proved Anfield can still rock and that Liverpool supporters can, and should, believe.

CB: Sorry to be predictable but can't look beyond the second leg against Borussia Dortmund at Anfield. The semi-final win over Villarreal at Anfield was a more complete performance, however. An English side absolutely hammering the team that finished 4th in La Liga? Did it really happen? Was it some kind of footballing miracle? It made the second half in Basel so much harder to understand.

JA: There's only one, isn't there? Borussia Dortmund. A truly magical and emotional night. That was special.

JP: Borussia Dortmund at Anfield. I have never seen anything like that. At one point Liverpool looked absolutely dead and buried and you just thought there was no way back. I have never experienced an Anfield night like that.

DK: The obvious one would be Borussia Dortmund in the Europa League but I'm going to select the home game against Manchester United in the Europa League. It was a 2-0 demolition that should really have been double that score. The occasion was fantastic, the atmosphere was just what it should be and the performance Liverpool produced was as good as anything under Jürgen Klopp's reign.

DF: It has to be Borussia Dortmund at Anfield. We did expect drama but not of such magnitude. The way we started the game was obviously disappointing but the way we finished the game was unbelievable. You certainly don't get many games like that in a career, never mind in a season!

AK: There have been so many but Borussia Dortmund for me stands out. We put in some really great performances in the Europa League at Anfield but the Dortmund game was fantastic. Everybody contributed to the team performance that night and I include the 12th man, our fantastic crowd, in that. Our fans were just unbelievable and you can sense sometimes something is going to happen. I loved the way we responded to going a couple of goals down early. That was probably the best game we have seen at Liverpool for a long, long time, and let's hope there is more to come in the future.
