Liverpool's hopes of a possible treble ended as Queens Park Rangers reached the Milk Cup final after an away goals victory over the Reds in the semi-final.

Trailing 1-0 from the first leg at Loftus Road, hopes were high that the Reds could reach Wembley for a competition they dominated in the 1980s.

However, with six minutes left to play, Gary Gillespie deflected a clearance into his own net as Jim Smith's side reached Wembley.
