First up, we get the views of Andy Hunter from The Guardian.

Who’ll win the league?

I’ve already done my predictions for the newspaper and I’m afraid to say it’s Manchester United. I think Tottenham will go close as well but I honestly think this is the most wide-open Premier League season I can remember for a long time. I don’t know whether that is because of what Leicester City achieved last season, that everyone thinks they can do it. Looking at all of the teams, there is a gap between the top seven or eight teams and everybody else. I do expect Liverpool to be vastly improved this season. I have got this feeling that one of the top teams may miss out and I think Pep Guardiola may take time to get his methods working at Manchester City. This is the first time in the last three summers that Liverpool haven’t lost a key player and they have kept the core of the team and made some good signings.

Where will Liverpool finish?

Top four.

What do you think of the new additions to the Liverpool squad?

Good. In terms of addressing what needed to be addressed from last season they have added pace up front in Sadio Mane, they have more quality in central midfield with Georginio Wijnaldum. I think Wijnaldum can play anywhere he wants. The range of options Jürgen Klopp has in the final third of the field is the massive difference. I still think left-back is an area that needs to be addressed but Liverpool have a good squad.

What are the expectations as Jürgen Klopp prepares for his first full season in charge of the club?

Big as always, as it should be with Liverpool, but there’s a sense of realism as well. I think there is a lot of optimism and that is because everyone buys into what Klopp is trying to do. There is a realism that the competition is probably stronger than it has ever been this season and any one of eight clubs could easily finish in the top four. I think it will be small margins between them. The momentum of last season, certainly getting to two cup finals, and this time they are not in Europe may benefit them. Yes, there is no Luis Suarez figure but Liverpool seem to have a real team ethic and a work ethic and an understanding of what the manager wants. There is a lot of optimism without getting too carried away.

Surprise package team?

Leicester City again because I don’t think they will go too far down. I actually think Leicester might do OK in the Champions League and get a couple of good results. The way they shocked everyone last year, I don’t think you can dismiss the champions like that.

Relegated?

Hull, Burnley and one of Watford or West Bromwich Albion.

LFC player to watch?

Sadio Mane.

One hope as a reporter this season?

That the season is as unpredictable as the last.
