Much has changed at Liverpool since Jürgen Klopp's first game in charge at Tottenham Hotspur last October, according to Simon Mignolet.

Klopp returns to the scene of his opening fixture as Reds boss when he takes his side to White Hart Lane this Saturday lunchtime.

Liverpool’s marathon 2015-16 campaign means the meeting will be the German’s 56th match in the job, despite the fact he only arrived at the club a little under 11 months ago.

Speaking ahead of the game, Mignolet revealed that Klopp’s impact has made life at Anfield a ‘completely different picture’ from the last time the Reds visited Spurs.

“Since he arrived he’s tried to change many things. He showed immediately the difference as soon as he came in, he wanted to change many things,” the goalkeeper explained.

“He wanted us to press high and put the opponents under pressure. We did that really well there [at Tottenham last season].

“At the beginning it wasn’t easy for him to change things because we had so many games and we had injuries and suspensions. If you only have two or three days in between games then it’s very difficult to change anything tactically, you need a bit of time.

“But now it’s a new season and he had the chance to work with the boys in pre-season on specific things. Last year we learned things step by step and improved a lot and I think from that day against Tottenham, it’s a completely different picture.

“Everyone now knows what he wants and what his message is and we now have the chance, after a full pre-season, to put things in place against Tottenham like he really wants.”
