= 2nd: Gordon Hodgson (12)
Alongside Steven Gerrard with a record of 12 successful penalties in a row is Gordon Hodgson, who achieved the feat some eight decades before the modern legend.
The South African-born striker was on target with each of his opening dozen spot-kicks for Liverpool – a run which began in February 1931 and lasted more than three years.
A miss against Manchester City at Anfield in September 1934 prevented Hodgson from extending that record any further, however.
