Way out in front at No.1 in this list is the Great Dane, Jan Molby – who not only achieved a streak of 18 consecutive penalties scored, but did it on two separate occasions.
The midfielder was unerring from the spot and actually hit the net with 36 out of 37 spot-kicks between March 17, 1986 and March 14, 1995.
One failure – during a 5-2 win against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge in December 1989 – splits Molby’s sensational two runs of 18 consecutive conversions.
In total, he was successful with 42 of his 45 penalties for the Reds, a strike rate of 93 per cent.
