We now head back to the 1987-88 season and find the strike partnership of John Aldridge and Peter Beardsley at their very best.
On September 29, 1987 at Anfield, Aldridge fired a hat-trick, including two penalties, and Beardsley grabbed the other.
It was a fantastic performance by the Reds and but for the heroics of Peter Shilton it could easily have been 8-0.
