Legendary forward Gordon Hodgson fired a hat-trick as Liverpool handed out a 6-1 thrashing to Derby County at Anfield in November 1932.

A crowd of 22,279 were present to witness four Liverpool goals being scored in the final 20 minutes of the game.

Going into the match, the Rams were in third place in Division One, while the Reds were 13th.

Hodgson, who netted an incredible 241 goals in 377 appearances for Liverpool, was in unstoppable mood though.

An own goal from George Collin edged the Reds in front and although the Rams levelled the game, Hodgson made it 2-1 just past the hour mark.

Dave Wright made it 3-1 before Hodgson netted two goals in the space of a minute to complete his treble.

Syd Roberts added the sixth goal.
