No.1: 'Supersub' Fairclough settles Anfield tie
Liverpool and Derby have only met once before in the League Cup - a third-round tie at Anfield in October 1977.
Seven months on from his most famous ‘Supersub’ act against Saint-Etienne, David Fairclough came off the bench with 20 minutes remaining and the score deadlocked at 0-0.
Within five minutes, Fairclough had netted twice to send the Reds through to round four.
Bob Paisley’s side went on to reach the final, where they were beaten 1-0 in a replay by Nottingham Forest.
