The wait for Liverpool to play again continues, but the build-up is underway, and David Fairclough has explained why the Anfield atmosphere will be crucial to the outcome when United visit on Monday.

“If the atmosphere is up, generally that brings out the best performances at Anfield,” he told Liverpoolfc.com.

Danny Ward is enjoying a fruitful loan spell with Championship leaders Huddersfield Town, where he is clocking up minutes under the management of Klopp’s friend David Wagner.

The goalkeeper has not put aside his aims of establishing himself at Liverpool, however. Far from it, in fact, the Welshman explained.
