Next, we get the thoughts of the Telegraph's Chris Bascombe...

Who will win the league?

Manchester City. When you spend £100million on a couple of full-backs, anything but winning the league is a failure.

Where will Liverpool finish?

Third. Much depends on avoiding injuries.

What do you think of the new additions to the squad?

Mohamed Salah looks an excellent addition. It's good to see Liverpool buying a player who can slip so seamlessly into the side without having to radically change his game. Dominic Solanke is clearly capable of scoring goals. Andy Robertson will need time to adjust but he was impressive at Hull.

Surprise package team?

Not sure how many will be surprised given their form last season, but Huddersfield.

Player of the Year?

It would have been Philippe Coutinho last season had he not been injured in November. If he starts as he did a year ago and sustains it, he'll be a contender.

Relegated?

Brighton, Burnley and West Ham. Brighton will find it tough, Burnley have surprised everyone but need to improve their away form. West Ham I am not sure about, but they were dreadful last season and I just have a feeling something is not right there.

LFC player to watch?

Can't look beyond the obvious. Coutinho and Sadio Mane, although we all expect this to be a breakthrough year for Trent Alexander-Arnold and Ben Woodburn.

One hope as a reporter this season?

That Anfield is the most entertaining venue and the Twitter army stop obsessing about transfers every single second of every single day and enjoy the ride. We've seen some great stuff over the last few years. Yes, it needs to be better and more consistent if Liverpool are going to win trophies, but there is not a lot wrong with this squad. Clearly there needs to be an improvement defensively, but look how much the side improved last year. Given what we've seen under Jürgen Klopp so far I think there should be a bit more optimism on our Twitter notifications!
