2: Alonso's Ataturk Amends (May 2005)
In Istanbul, Spanish midfielder Xabi Alonso stood over the most high pressure penalty of his Liverpool career; one that would level the 2005 Champions League final after the Reds looked dead and buried at 3-0 down.
AC Milan keeper Dida saved it and hearts sank, but as time stood still, Alonso reacted quickest of all inside the Ataturk Stadium and slotted in the rebound. Redemption!
The rest, as they say, is glorious history. The Reds went on to win the most dramatic European Cup final ever 3-2 on penalties.
