10. Steven Gerrard vs Hull City (Sep 2009)
Having just taken a corner in this 6-1 Premier League win over Hull City at Anfield, Steven Gerrard was still stationed out on the left flank when Emiliano Insua quickly regained possession and gave the ball back to his skipper.
Without taking a touch to control the defender's pass, Gerrard looked up and whipped in a curling effort that dipped over the flailing hand of back-pedalling goalkeeper Boaz Myhill and went in off the underside of the crossbar.
Did he mean it? Was it a cross or a shot? No matter. It put the Reds 4-1 up and is the goal with which we kick off our top 10.
