Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane's success on the football pitch and humbleness off it are inspiring millions of children in Africa, according to former Liverpool midfielder Momo Sissoko.

The Egyptian and Senegalese forwards are two of the three African internationals shortlisted for the 2019 FIFA FIFPRO World11, with Napoli's Kalidou Koulibaly the other.

And Sissoko, who represented Mali during his career, believes the Reds duo set the perfect example for young people to follow in their home continent.

"These two players are amazing," the 34-year-old told Liverpoolfc.com. "They score a lot of goals, they give Liverpool a lot of energy, pace.

"I think they give a big image for Africa. To be honest, I'm very proud of these two players.

"I'm proud of all the team, but especially Mo Salah and Sadio Mane. They give a good image of Africa for the future generation – this is important.

"In my time, a lot of people wanted to be Sissoko. In this time, a lot of people want to be Mo Salah, Sadio Mane!"
