Watch free: Split screen of Salah and Ngog's Man Utd clinchers
Mohamed Salah's injury-time finish over Manchester United on Sunday clinched victory for Liverpool and evoked memories of another famous win against the Reds' arch-rivals.
Deep into stoppage time at Anfield and holding a 1-0 lead, Alisson Becker sent the ball upfield to play Salah through on goal.
The Egyptian shrugged off the defensive efforts of Daniel James before calmly slotting beyond David de Gea and sparking ecstatic celebrations on the pitch, as well as in the stands.
Alisson led them as the goalkeeper dashed the length of the field to embrace the goalscorer before the rest of his teammates caught up.
"There’s comparisons with one we scored about 10 years ago and then he’s ran up and celebrated like Pepe Reina did!" Trent Alexander-Arnold laughed post-match.
Indeed, Reina had a similar reaction when David Ngog put the finishing touches on a win over United back in October 2009.
The French forward raced through in the 96th minute at Anfield after a Lucas Leiva pass to make it 2-0 in front of the Kop.
“It was a fantastic moment for me and the team and I would say it's my best moment in football,” the French forward declared in the aftermath.
“I was surprised because the first person to celebrate with me was Pepe but that shows you just what this victory means for us."
