Alisson Becker is looking forward with inspiration and motivation as the goalkeeper begins a sixth year as a Liverpool player.

The Brazil international celebrates the fifth anniversary of his arrival on Merseyside this week, having helped Jürgen Klopp's team lift a series of major trophies – including both the Premier League and Champions League.

Alisson has played an integral role in the recent successes at Anfield, tallying 231 appearances between the posts alongside a century of clean sheets since joining in 2018.

"It's a fresh start from the past five years," the No.1 told Liverpoolfc.com of the personal milestone.

"I only use those years to remember how good it is to be a Liverpool player. How good it is to be part of this family – a big family.

"The team, the supporters, the staff; everybody here, they are amazing. I love this place. I love being a Liverpool player and I want to give my all for the team to achieve our goals and go back to winning again."

On the current Germany training camp…

It was just four [days so far], but it looks like a lot! It's really good. [I'm] really excited to be here starting a new season. We have a lot of dreams for the season – great goals, great targets, but everything starts now so with a lot of hard work it's what we are doing here.

On this being his sixth pre-season at Liverpool…

Every pre-season and beginning of a season is a fresh start. It's a new start, new opportunity. A lot of things have changed in our squad, players have gone [and] players are coming, so we are really excited for the challenges in front of us. Together we can do a lot of good things this season.

On helping new players settle in…

It's not only me but all the players. The mentality of everybody here, the more experienced players that are here longer, we try to help the new players that are coming in for them to be as settled as soon as possible. We are going to need them as soon as possible as soon as the games start. It's important to help them, and for me the South American players I can help more, because a little bit language problems. But Alexis [Mac Allister] doesn't have an issue with that, but I want to help in any way I can.

On whether he still holds the same excitement from when he first arrived at Liverpool...

I'm always excited about playing football. I love playing football. I love it here. I love my job. It's fantastic always when you can start a new season, because you have another opportunity to do the things that you love to do. It's not only about trying to win titles but it's really trying to appreciate the journey and to work hard for that.

You need to work hard to achieve goals and to win trophies. You have to do that for sure, but if you can enjoy the ride it becomes even more special. It's what we do here. It's what I do with my life; with everything I do, I do with passion, I do with love, so in the end we can enjoy.
