Liverpool Ladies can today confirm that the pre-season friendly match with Yeovil Town Ladies scheduled for tomorrow, Saturday March 12, has now been postponed.

The match, which was set to take place at the Select Security Stadium in Widnes, has been postponed as the Glovers are unable to fulfil the fixture due to injuries.

On the fixture postponement, Yeovil Town Ladies manager Jamie Sherwood said: “We sincerely apologise to Scott [Rogers], Liverpool Ladies' players and all the supporters who were keenly looking forward to this friendly fixture.

“The decision was not taken lightly but with the illnesses and injuries we have throughout our squad, we feel we have had no alternative.

“Both clubs have a great relationship and this will continue. Hopefully the sides will meet this season in another friendly or cup competition.”

Liverpool Ladies play their first game of the 2016 season next Saturday, March 19, when they host Manchester City in a Women's FA Cup fifth-round tie at the Select Security Stadium at 5.30pm GMT.
